Bits of Green

Lots of planting has been going on in the preschool classroom.  The children had to clear the weeds from their grow boxes before they could plant.  They then planted onions, lettuce, radishes, green beans, peas, spinach and radishes in their grow box garden.  Some seedlings are already popping up.

They planted tomatoes to give out on Earth Day.  They also planted tomatoes, peppers, marigolds, and a "beanstalk" to take home for their own gardens.  They planted a sunflower seed today and will keep a journal of the plant's growth for the next month.  The preschool is staying busy and enjoying gardening.

First we clear the weeds from our grow box garden.

Getting  the soil ready.

Bugsy got some of the weeds from our garden.

This one looks ready to plant.

Now we get to plant.
