Sensory Fun
We've been talking about our five senses since last week. Ask your child if he or she can remember what any of the five senses are? We've been doing activities pertaining to each sense. They made binoculars from tubes to remind us of our vision. They made paper plate bean shakers to remind us of our hearing. Today we drew in shaving cream and used several senses at once. We could feel the shave cream, smell the shave cream, and see the shave cream. Fortunately, we didn't have anyone taste the shave cream. The children also worked on their pre-writing skills by drawing shapes in the shave cream. This is a fun activity to do at home. The little ones love it and since it is just soap, it doesn't make a permanent mess. We will learn about our sense of smell tomorrow by painting with grape scented paint (grape koolade mixed in).
