Dinosaurs in the Classroom

Dinosaurs invaded out classroom for the past two weeks.  The children used sand, plaster of Paris, and plastic dinosaurs to discover how fossils are made.  They made back plates from paper plates, dug for dino-bones, and played dino-games.  They've learned some big words and had lots of fun!

Digging for dino bones.

We made our own fossils from sand, plaster of Paris and plastic dinosaurs.

After the plaster (rock) hardened, the children used an archeologist tool to find the fossil.

Sorting dino bones and claws (straight and curved macaroni).

Making volcanoes.
