Mrs. Montgomery, Cover your Sneeze!

We are talking about ways to stay healthy this week.  To help the children understand how germs spread, Mrs. Montgomery sneezed into her hand and spread germs (glitter).  She touched one child and that child touched another.  We went around the group touching the hand of the person next to us.  We then looked at our hands to see how far her germs spread.  Eight (of the eleven present) had germs from that one sneeze.  We also noticed that germs fell on the carpet so all of us would probably be sick eventually.  We learned to sneeze into the crook of our elbows and how important it is to wash hands.

Mrs. Montgomery had more germs in the afternoon.  Everyone ended up with the germs that were passed on.

Bugsy Comes out to Play

Our classroom bunny is cage (potty) trained so now he can come out of his cage and play with us sometimes.  He enjoyed playing with the morning children and investigating their play.  He will start visiting the afternoon class soon.  Bugsy loves children and is so gentle with them.

House Painting Party

The students painted the houses that they designed yesterday.  We have some unique colored houses.  The students thoroughly enjoyed painting and we had paint everywhere by the time they were finished.
