Carnival Helpers

The preschool students helped the Wellness Committee to package healthy trail mix for the school carnival.  The kitchen staff made the mix and allowed the preschool students to fill the containers to hand out at the carnival.  This was a learning activity for the students as we reviewed washing our hands and wearing gloves.  They also practiced fine motor skills as they spooned the mixture into the containers.

How Does Your Sunflower Grow?

The children planted their sunflowers.  They began a journal and drew pictures of what their sunflower looked like every week for a month.  They were so proud of their sunflowers.  They would measure and determine what changes had occurred in the height and number of leaves.  We had to replant a couple of sunflower when they were snapped off during measuring.  One child said that his was just sleeping but we replanted just in case.

Here a Chick--There a Chick...

The children were really excited when our baby chicks hatched.  We ended up with around twenty-three chicks.  The chicks all went to good homes.
