Volcanoes Erupt in Preschool

The children had a "blast" with the volcanoes that they made.  They molded  clay (dough) around a prescription medicine bottles and allowed the clay to dry.  They added baking soda and vinegar to the volcanoes and watched them erupt.

Exploring Fossils

The preschool students had so much fun digging for fossils that they made their own fossils.  Each child made a dinosaur imprint in sand and poured a layer of plaster of Paris over the imprint.  After the plaster of Paris hardened, each child used a paleontologist tool (brush) to clean  the sand away from the fossil.  We also talked about and examined rocks and petrified wood.

Future Paleontologists

The children in both the morning and afternoon class enjoyed excavating for dinosaur remains.

Gone Fishing

We started back to school on January 3, 2013.  We came back to a unit on animals.  We learned that pets need food, water, shelter, and love.  We talked about wild and domestic animals.  The children enjoyed getting to fish during our unit.

Animals

The dog got lots of brushing during our animal's unit.

 I want a pet snake.
 These animals are really hungry.
